Charles E. Porta - Managing Director

Charles entered the Oil & Gas Industry in the early 1960’s with Sohio Petroleum Company while attending Oklahoma City University. During the eleven years Charles was with Sohio, he gained experience assisting in engineering studies, gas contracts, data processing, and land & title.

In 1974 Charles joined D.E. Davis, Inc an oil and gas leasing firm. His responsibilities included record title searches, lease purchases and in-house land management. In 1978 he became a partner in an oil and gas brokerage firm known as Porta & Nixon, involving leasing and title research. Charles was also responsible for putting together drilling packages which included working with Geologist, Engineers, and the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. In addition, Charles assigned and managed the daily activities of numerous sub-brokers working for the firm.

 

From 1985 to 1989, Charles performed in-house oil and gas property management for an independent oil company located in Oklahoma City. In 1989 Charles formed Springer Land Service, LLC which is still very active operating in leasing and title work for various oil and gas companies. Charles has also performed estate evaluations and title searches for law firms as well as property evaluations for the banking industry. Over the years, his experience has taken him as far East and West as Mississippi and New Mexico, and as far North and South as Montana and Texas.
